So many beautiful memories old chum. We loved cars, tech, squash, tennis, even the Atkins diet back in the day. Weirdly, we agreed on most things - except you could never understand how the foibles of an old Jag could overcome ruthless German reliability. It was often a mental challenge, but I loved debating stuff with you - if you didn’t know, you found out, if there was injustice - you stood against it. You made your point well. And you listened. You were special Bill. Who else could stroll into a bar full of drunk Geordies on a Wednesday afternoon and somehow get away with putting on a fake Newcastle accent complete with an excruciatingly loud “wye aye man”? Only you - amazing for a man who got tipsy on ½ a pint of lager. I’ll miss the advice, the banter, the care, you dropping in for a chat, but I won’t say goodbye. You're closer than ever now - in my thoughts, my attitudes, my approach to life. Sort them out up there mate.
