We took our last holiday together in September 2023, a roadtrip covering many miles by car as that was the Pilley way…. This time through French countryside not on American soil! We stayed in some very odd hotels (a run down chateau that had really seen better days) and dined in some dubious restaurants such as the motorway services and wine tasting in a supermarket. But that was all part of the adventure when William. I spent the usual amount of time apologising for my husbands direct approach to things, including telling some French chaps prized collection of aeroplane parts that it was a ‘odd load of rubbish’.. and to the chateau manager he had ‘a lot of work to do’ whilst insisting on fixing the AV in the room we were staying. He was my husband for nearly 40 years, we met when I was just 17 at Saturday night fever dancing classes. We had been through our ups and downs but he was always there for me to fix any problem no matter how big or small. A wonderful husband, father, friend to many and ever the optimist. I will miss you my darling xxx
